Over the weekend, I went up to Durham, NC, to visit my younger daughter for her birthday. She just completed her first quilt and it is beautiful! For her first quilt she made a queen sized quilt and not only pieced it but also quilted it herself. (I am a proud mom! I started with a wall hanging and took a class in order to learn how to make it. She did this totally on her own.) Anyway, things are keeping me busy here at home. I am working on quilt-related things and winter sowing. There are no sprouts in my winter sowing containers yet, but I will be certain to let you know when something sprouts. That usually happens in February. Some of you know that I am active with GardenWeb. They not only have the gardening side, but also a quilting forum. In the gardening area, I am hostess for a Chocolate Seed Swap that will run during the month of February. That will be lots of fun! (Chocolate related seeds have a lot less calories than candy. Even the edible plants that relate to this are things like peppers and tomatoes. LOL) On the quilting forum, I am the coordinator for the 2010 Birthday Block Exchange. I have participated in that in 2008 and 2009. This is my first year as the coordinator. It is so much fun to receive quilt blocks in the mail for your birthday. Have a good week, everyone, and remember that if you want to comment on anything or ask questions, just contact me by e-mail.
