Ready for Rafting

Part of our trip involved a raft ride through the Pieniny Mountains on Dunajec Gorge.  This was lots of fun and we saw some beautiful scenery.  We would see people on bicycles and hikers on trails along the water from time to time and usually everyone was happy to wave as we did.  At one point we were totally in Slovakia.  To begin with the water was the border between Poland and Slovakia, but some flooding caused the water to change course and in one place both the shore to the left and to the right are Slovakia.  It is legal to enter Slovakia this way when you are on the raft trip.  At least that's what we were told, so I have added another country to those I have visited!

Ducks following us along.  People must feed them from the rafts because they followed us a long ways.  I got some beautiful pictures while we were on the raft.

The man who manuevered our raft at the front was the son of the man working on the back of the raft.  He said being a raftsman runs in the family and with 4 years of experince, he was just a rookie!  They take classes and get tested in order to do this job and progress in their skills and abilities.
