Busy Week
May 18, 2010

Well, things continue to be busy around here.  My quilt guild met on Tuesday and the Lexington Master Gardeners met yesterday.  I am in charge of the displays at the Lexington County Libraries and started to switch the displays on Tuesday.  If you go to any of the Lexington County Public Libraries, look for the Master Gardener Display and read about some of our plant related topics.

Meanwhile in my own garden, the daylilies are just beautful.  I had one Chocolate Silk Morning Glory bloom so far and what a pretty flower!  I will be sure to take a picture of it next time it blooms.  I finally have some green tomatoes on my Silvery Fir Tree Tomato plants.  I am really impressed with both those and the Roughwood Golden Tiger.  We'll see which is most productive and tastes best by the end of the summer.  I FINALLY have a summer squash developing on one of my plants and a few tiny cucumbers are starting to grow.  I also have some Ram's Horn Beans and Yellow Bush Beans.  There is a very skimpy crop with them, but I could not plant very many plants... I also think the rabbits are eating as many of the beans as they can!  I truly believe deer are eating one of my hydrangea bushes.  The leaves and stems are getting munched too high on the plant for it to be rabbits.

Anyway, if I don't get to post again before Sunday, Happy Father's Day to all the Dads!
