May 1st is a day of some significance.  Do you ever see those lists that have all the special occasions for the month?  Well, May 1 is Law Day, May Day, Loyalty Day, Mother Goose Day, and Save the Rhino Day and this year it is also the date of the running of the Kentucky Derby.  I absolutely love to watch the Triple Crown Races.  Maybe eventually there will be another Triple Crown winner and I guess those of us who love the races hope for that every year.  Things have been busy in the garden.  I will add some pictures here so you can see what is in bloom.  I will have some plants for sale this year and will provide a list of those on the blog soon or you can just e-mail to find out what they are.  Right now it looks like I will be having a Garage Sale here on either Saturday, May 15 or May 22, so you can plan to come by then or make arrangements to come over before then.  The Garage Sale will include all kinds of things, not just plants.  I will decide on the date soon.  I had originally planned for May 15, but I had some eye problems develop so I am waiting to see how I do with that.  Vision problems worry me so I am being cautious about bending and lifting things.  You probably do not want to hear all the details about my eye.  I had this same thing happen last year --- only in the right eye that time.  Now, on to the pictures of what is in bloom:
